Ross Troy

Producer

Ross (Rosstapher) Troy is a musician, recording engineer and producer, currently residing in Cecil County, MD. Ross started his career in music at the age of 16 as a mix apprentice for a small sound and recording facility in Delaware, Wondersound Studios. Although shortlived, Wondersound gave Ross his introduction to live sound mixing, which soon became his passion. After a brief glance at college, Ross landed at Joe's Sound in Trenton, NJ. Joe's was a well known regional sound company and Ross began regularly working with a number of local bands, including Blue Eyes, featuring Bobby Lenti of popular Philadelphia faves, Johnny's Dance Band (RCA/Windsong).

Ross would work mixing both Bobby's band, and other Johhny's alumni, including Courtney Colletti and Tony Juliano, all over the Philly area. Ross briefly joined Taylor Sound and mixed the short-lived, horn band, Memphis Motor City Review, featurng many of Philly's best known singers and studio musicians, including Johnny O, Rick Valenti and Allstar's guitarist, John Gilson. From there, Ross did freelance work for a number of sound companies. He toured with Gene Clark's 25th Anniversary Tribute to the Byrds as Road Manager, as well as mixing FOH. Other notable artists Ross got to work with include The Strawbs, Kansas, Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, Iggy Pop, Oingo Boingo and a host of others. Ross then moved west and spent three years working for West LA Music in their pro audio department and doing occasional mixing and bass playing gigs. This is where Ross put together his first small studio - in the heart of Hollywood. After yet another couple moves, first to Seattle and finally back to the east coast. Ross has finally settled in Cecil County, Maryland, where he owns Wrecked Room Recording. He does occasional gigs playing guitar and bass, but his passion is recording and producing original music and trying to help local songwriters achieve their dream recording.
